Izana Shakira Mohd Isa, (Shakira)

Shakira was born in Kuala Lumpur but moved around a lot as a child because her father was in the Malaysian army. She has been working as an engineer for five years, which her leaves little time for a boyfriend or an active lifestyle.

She admits that she also keeps her distance from people because of her low self-esteem. “I've been pushing people away from me because I feel that if you can't love yourself, how on earth can other people love you?”

Sure and calm, she credits her positive outlook on life to her early years spent in a boarding school. The all-girl environment taught her to 'love herself' and she learned you can be beautiful at any size. However, beneath this outer confidence, Shakira has deep-seated fears about how people judge her because of her weight and she has been treated badly in past relationships.

Shakira is a sweet and friendly girl who will readily offer a shoulder to cry on to the other contestants. Her primary goal is to get her health back and look beautiful – inside and out. She is determined to win The Biggest Loser Asia for herself, to prove to herself that she has the willpower, ability and determination to go the whole distance.
